Everton last Thursday parted ways with their manager Roberto Martinez after a poor season. The departure ends a three year reign of Martinez who joined the club in 2013/2014 season guiding the Toffees to a 5th place finish in the league in his first year averaging 1.6 goals per game and a 1.0 goals conceded per game with a win ratio of 55.3%. The Spanish manager ended his tenure at the Merseyside with 1.6 goals per game, 1.4 goals conceded per game and a win ratio of 26.5%.

The Ministry of defence has realeased from custody over 167 suspects arrested during a military campaign to end an islamist insurgency in the northeast. In a statement released and signed on Friday by the Director of Defence Information Major Gen. Chris Olukolade expressed they were following orders by the Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
